If you own a Oculus Quest or Quest 2 and you have a powerful enough pc or laptop you should defenitely try Oculus Link. The only thing you need is your VR headset, a powerful pc or laptop and an USB C 3.0 cable.
Connect to pc
If you want to connect your Oculus Quest or Quest 2 to your pc you need to make sure to have done the following:
- Have a powerful pc which can handle VR games.
- A USB C 3.0 cable. (Preferably the Oculus Link Cable or a compatible cable such as the Anker Cable)
- Installed the Oculus software
Connect your Quest with your computers graphic card using the USB C 3.0 cable and open the Oculus app. A message will pop up in your headset, press “Deny”. Now simply click settings and click on Oculus Link. Your Quest or Quest 2 will load the Rift screen and you are ready to play VR games.
Connect to laptop
If you want to connect your Oculus Quest or Quest 2 to your laptop you will need to follow the same steps as connecting a Quest to a pc. But you might get an error message saying your Quest can’t connect to your laptop. To fix this, you need to connect your laptop to a monitor and make it your primary screen. Now try the steps again and you will be ready to go.
If you still get an error try to disable your onboard video chip. To do this go to Device Manager > Graphics Cards > Right click your onboard video chip and disable it.
Your Oculus Quest should now be succesfully connected to your pc/laptop.
